Stamp Ink Paper #130-Say No To Christmas!

Well, it has been a slice!
This is my final week as a Guest Designer for Stamp Ink Paper, and it has been a blast!  I want to thank Andrea for inviting me to join them for their weekly inspiration - everyone is so talented and the creativity is always top-notch! So thanks again!
Our final challenge of 2017 is a 2 week challenge - you will have extra time to play along with us! I think (most of us) will agree on the theme  - Say No To Christmas - because...quite frankly, some of us have been working on Christmas designs since September.  It is time for me to PUT. THE. SNOWFLAKES. AWAY.  😆

This encouraging card is actually SUPER-sized. ;)  I created it as a 5x7 card, in part because of the size of the sentiment and layers... and also because it is a custom card   especially for a group of people to sign and send on it's way for someone  in the fight of their life. 💪

Viva la Verve December 2017

I cannot believe that the year is almost over! I can honestly say I am happy to turn the page  and take on whatever 2018 has in store for us! Bring it ON!
I decided to play along with Viva la Verve's December sketch, as I have been enjoying all the wonderful digi's that Verve offered up a few weeks ago - I LOVE THEM ALL!  I had to create just one more design using one of  the sentiments from my favourite - Winter Peace.

I couldn't resist making another clear acetate card - they look like alot of fuss (but the hardest thing about them is trying to snap a quality photo) and the end result is always terrific.
Thanks for stopping by - and from our home to yours, may your Christmas season be filled with all the good stuff!

Stamp Ink Paper #129 - Red, Green & Gold

Hello everyone, and Happy Tuesday!

This week, I am playing along with the Stamp Ink Paper crew... I am a Guest Designer until the end of the month (...and.... the end of the year).... I will have just one more challenge before another Guest Designer appears!

This week, we have a color inspiration for you!

I grabbed a wonderful digi set from Verve to whip up this card in no time for our challenge this week!
Details: Stamp: (Verve) Digi - Winter Peace  Paper: (SU) Gold Foil, Whisper White CS, Cherry Cobbler CS, Garden Green CS Warmth & Cheer DSP  (SU) Holly Berry Punch, Holly Embossing Folder,  (MFT) In & Out Stitched Rectangles

I have always been a "purist" when it comes to card making - STAMP, INK.  But, I have to say, Verve has had some amazing digits featured and they are a great go-to  for a quick sentiment if you don't have something just right in your arsenal of rubber stamps :)
I hope you checked out all of the amazing inspiration from our Design Team  …

CASology - Stormy

Hi lovelies!
I took a quick break today from my scheduled posts and "to-do" list to have a little fun.
I spotted the the cue card for CASology this week - Stormy.

I used an  absolute gem from Verve Stamps that they are offering  as a digital image - it is from the set is called Winter Peace. Grab it while you can!  I love that white space doesn't *have* to be white. 😉 and I decided to add a bit of something  to that smooth black cardstock by running it through my Big Shot  with a texture die from Lil Inkers called Quilted Stitched Spirals. (It reminded me of whirling snow).  I also dug in to my stash of goodies and found a silver foil snowflake from  Stampin Up - they will soon be retired so if you want to grab them - now is the time!

Thanks, and be sure to say hello below to let me know you stopped by!

I am SOOooo excited that Christmas will be here before we know it - and I am busy in my studio sending off the last of my cards far & wide in hopes they arrive in time to spread some cheer!  So it was wonderful to play with this fun & festive die from Lawn Fawn!
Here is what I designed!

Stamp: (SU) Hearts Come Home
Ink: (SU) Black Archival, Crushed Curry
Ken Oliver Colorbursts in Merlot, Orange, Lime, Yellow Ochre, Crimson
Paper: (Canson) Water-colour (Recollections) Glitter CS, Silver Foil
(SU) Dapper Denim CS, Basic Black CS, Whisper White CS

Stamp Ink Paper #128-Let It Snow!

Stamp Ink Paper has another amazing challenge for you this week!

Let It Snow!

And here is my design!

Details: Stamp: (SU) Hearts Come Home Ink: (SU) Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate, Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green  Paper: Acetate, Vellum, (SU) Smoky Slate CS, Whisper White CS (Nouvo) Crystal Drops in Simply White (Ranger) Stickles in Diamond (MFT) Wonky Stitched Rectangles

As soon as I saw this challenge theme - I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do: A clear, acetate card.  Easy...right? HOWEVER. Manifesting it was an entirely different story. Don't get me wrong - the acetate base with the sparkle of the Stickles and the little Nouvo drops was easy-peasy.  The inside sentiment came out perfect. But maybe it was the distraction of prepping for a class... or life in general... but it seriously took me SIX attempts at that card front. It finally dawned on me (pardon me-maybe lack of coffee?) that I finally reached for my Stamp Perfect in order to line up the trees... and the house. Even now -…

Friends of Unity December Blog Hop

Hi everyone!
I have something exciting to share!

I am thrilled to share this post, kicking off our very first Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

Here is what I designed this month for you!

I am mailing off the last of my Christmas cards this week, and I had to play with one of my most favourite sets from Unity Stamps to date - called Cheerful Prancing.
I stamped him with dark Early Espresso ink from SU and added Versa mark on just a portion - then I heat embossed with Gold embossing powder to add a bit of SHINE!
This set is adorable - and to add to the fun - I received an extra deer in my Grab Bag - so I would love to give it to a special someone!
So, be sure to leave some love below - I will be choosing a lucky winner Dec. 6th and posting that winner Dec 7th! So check back here on my blog to see if you are getting a little something from Santa ;)

I am being joined by some wicked awesome talent! You likely arrived via Jeanie's blog!! If not - you should really go back and check it out!(…

Stamp Ink Paper #127- Wrap It Up!

Hello everyone - and Happy Tuesday!
I hope all of my American friends have recovered from their Thanksgiving holiday and it is now straight sailing from now until Christmas! Can you believe in just a few short weeks we will be ringing in a new year?! I am SO ready!

This week, over at Stamp, Ink, Paper we have a challenge for you that will bust you out of your Christmas card frenzy - Wrap It Up (Tags...bags..... packaging... you name it!)

Here is my design!

...picture it.  Stampin Up - 2009.  This fun little wooden set  called Two Cool Dudes was my VERY FIRST stamp purchase  (and the reason for my credit card debt ever since!)  ;)  No regrets!
For this project I combined  the old with the new - the foil snowflakes from SU are one of my favourite current items for all of my Christmas projects - so you might just see a another peek at them before the holiday season is over! The Bakers Box die was my go-to for this fun little box!

Stamp Ink Paper #126-Grateful, Thankful, Blessed

Hello sweet friends!
I am back again for another challenge with Stamp Ink Paper! Our theme is Grateful, Thankful, Blessed - perfect for the US Thanksgiving holiday season!

The image I inked up is from one of my FAVE stamp sets  from Unity called Everything - I used Versamark and heated white embossing powder for it to really stand out on the vellum. I also dug in to my Unity goodies for the sentiment (which actually fits the theme of our challenge this week) - and it can be found in the September Sentiment Kit called Abundant Blessings. I used Early Espresso ink from SU, and heat-set it.

A quick stitch or two with my vellum, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Kraft cardstock and this clean & simple little thank-you card was ready to hit the mail for someone special!

Check out all of the Design Team blogs  this week for our challenge - they have been busy creating some fabulous projects for inspiration.
Don't forget to play along with us - you have until Sunday 8pm Nov 26th to…

Here is what I designed!

I kept it super simple - and... while I don't have a large selection of the crayons - I have been playing with these water-reactive goodies for awhile - and I love 'em!
I wanted to design something "winter" - but I didn't want to cram Christmas down your throat *just yet* (haha - don't worry, it is coming!) 😂

Stamp, Ink, Paper #125- A Color Challenge!

Hi, everyone!
I have another card to share with you today for Stamp, Ink, Paper! For this week's challenge we have a fun fall color combo for you!

Stamp: (Unity) Abundant Blessings, Love Never Leaves Ink: (SU) Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie (Tim Holtz Distress) Fossilized Amber, Walnut Stain, Spiced Marmalade, (Oxides) Wild Honey Paper: (SU Cardstock) Early Espresso, Kraft, Whisper White, Watercolor (Hero Arts) Woodgrain Vellum (FSJ) Copper Silks Sequins, Gold cord Woodgrain Embossing Folder
I rubbed a bit of the Walnut Stain and the Copper Silk on to the woodgrain folder before putting it through the big shot - it gave it a bit of shine and dimension. I stamped my gorgeous fall leaves on watercolored paper by rocking a bit of the Fossilized Amber, Marmalade and Walnut Stain and then giving them a shot of water - I LOVE those leaves! I put my Brother Scan n' Cut to work to cut them out - but fussy-cutting works too!  I put my layers together and stamped my se…

This tag was a breeze with the die! I ran everything through my Big Shot, and then stamped by image with Black archival ink. Stamp: Unity (Layers of Life-Create Beauty), SU - Gorgeous Grunge Ink: Versamark, Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Fossilized Amber, Peacock Feathers, Blackened Soot,  (SU)Black Archival Paper: (SU) Basic Black base (4.25 x 5.5), Vellum, Smoky Slate (3.75 x 4.75),  Whisper White (3.5 x 4.5), Silver Foil Dies: (SU) Stars Embellishments: SU - Silver elastic cord, Silver Thread Embossing Powder: Black  Mica Powder: Silver  Fun Stampers Journey Silks: Silver

Artists' Choice Challenge

Hi everyone!
This week has only begun, and it already feels a bit overwhelming, people?... doesn't it?  There are days recently we shudder at the world outside and wrap ourselves inside all the goodness we can find.
So today, that is what my "Artists' Choice" is really about.
It's about CHOOSING love over hate.
It's about CHOOSING gratitude over attitude.
In this world there is SO much to be thankful for and on the days where it seems hardest to find it - those are the days we need to fight to cling to it. Like a life raft.
So my project last night was a sort of "therapy". It was me, thumbing my nose at what hate is trying to do.
I just want  the world to be a better place.
I just want people to heal.
And I just want to make pretty things.

So this is my choice.
I am giving thanks.
I am choosing love.
I created this for the Stamp Ink Paper - Cardmaker's Choice challenge.
And I hope you choose gratefulness, hopefulness ... and love.

I created a little something for the Snarktoberfest Blog Hop using a Christmas theme! Check it out!

Christmas is still miles away - but... sometimes when you are scared you might be stuck on the "Naughty List" you might want to get the jump on making amends.... it's SO hard to be good ;)
I paired some vintage paper from Stampin Up and Simple Stories for this card and anyone who knows me - my style is Clean and Simple - so all of these layers is WAY out of the box for me :)
 I used Strawberry Jud…
