Paper Craft Crew #282 - Tic Tac Toe

Our Paper Craft Crew has another fun challenge for you today!

This week, it is a Tic Tac Toe challenge!
Here is my design!

I played along with the middle row - BOTH ways ;)  It was totally unintentional but I guess it just worked out that way!
My Unity stamp set Hang In There, Lady uses a sweet little ladybug - when they start waking up around here, I know spring is on it's way! The sentiment is also from Unity, and it comes from the set called So Very Grateful.

This challenge will definitely get your creative juices flowing - be sure to play along with us! Link to the challenge by clicking on the image above!
Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Ink Paper #139 - Ribbon!

Hello sweet friends!
Welcome back to another challenge with the Stamp Ink Paper - this week we are playing with RIBBON!

Every crafter/cardmaker likely has a ribbon stash - but I decided to take this from a different approach - my Stampin Up "Work of Art" created a ribbon in Berry Burst, and the sentiment comes from another set called "Sending Thoughts". I always try to get more out of my stamp sets and while these aren't fresh of the presses of SU - I still find ways to use them! I popped up that layer on a base of the Foil Frenzy kraft cardstock - a little bit of shine was perfect!

Let's see how the cue inspires YOU this week - play along with us! Click on the picture above that will take you to the challenge!

My Birthday Gift to Me: On Becoming 44 and Closing the Door on a Ghost

As I sit here today, I have been ready to say and do what I am about to for many, many years.  I have turned this day over and over in my mind growing up, and in adult life and never truly could figure out the exact way that would make this easier... or more tactful.... or kinder. I have recently (almost 2 months ago) lost my beloved Baba. She was the last link chaining me to my personal prison. But I have to be kind to myself now.  This is a gift I am giving myself, on my 44th birthday, and it is time.  It is time to to tell MY truth.

For anyone who doesn't "know" me - a short, Reader's Digest Condensed version of my story goes like this:  I am the product of a marriage between 2 people that ended radically as a young (2year old) child. I was adopted and raised by a stepfather who married my mom and loved me unconditionally regardless of the fact that the blood flowing through me was not his. I had a loving mother, and younger siblings, and we all grew up equal.  M…

Inspired By - Foxy Succulents

Hi and Happy Thursday!
It's time for another Inspired By challenge  and this week we have something Foxy!

I will admit - I totally ended up in a WAY different direction when I originally looked at this challenge... but I like the end result regardless!
I used my Fox Builder punch from  Stampin Up for these little  cuties - and I made the background   on glossy photo paper using  the "Saran-Wrap technique" with  Distress Inks in Faded Jeans,  Peacock Feathers, and Stormy Sky. I used Fossilized Amber for that  big moon! My sentiment is from Katzelkraft - it is one of  my faves and I take every chance I  get to ink it up!

Here is our challenge cue card - it is meant to inspire...not require ;)  Play along with us and create ANY paper craft for our weekly challenge!

Paper Craft Crew #281 - Sketch Challenge!

It is mid week (Happy Hump Day!) and that means it is time for another challenge with the Paper Craft Crew - and this week we have a sketch to play with!
Here is my design!

This sketch had a ton of possibilities  so I decided to design a little "yay" for someone who just purchased their 1st home! That is something to definitely celebrate!
I layered some Fancy Pants Paper from the Oh Deer collection on Stampin Up cardstock - Pacific Point is the base!  The sentiment is from Happy Celebrations - a Stampin Up hostess set - and I actually inked it up first with Versamark and Archival Black and heat set it with clear embossing powder before I  grabbed my aqua painter and used Pacific Point ink on the watercolor paper.
The sweet little Woodgrain house was cut using SU!'s Hometown Greetings edgelits, and SU! also came in handy again with the stitched circle.

It's your turn to play with our sketch! Check out the inspiration from our Design Team and link up to this week&#…

Stamp Ink Paper #138 - Cardmaker's Choice

Welcome back to another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge!
This week, it's something I know you are going to love - Cardmaker's Choice!  Use your faves -the sky's the limit!

I designed this card using a fabulous image
 and sentiment from Unity called
 "bright, happy you". I used
Stampin Up Ink in Blushing Bride
for the rose, with just a bit of green
from my Zig markers for the leaves.
That awesome picture frame die is
from Lawn Fawn, and my gorgeous
paper is from Close To My Heart - it
is called Happy Times!  I love that fun flower clip from Simon Says Stamp and burlap and leaf ribbon that I had in my stash! (That was a Dollar Store find, believe it or not!)
I am sure this week you will play along with our Cardmakers' Choice challenge -
you can really go wild with this! Be sure to link your project to the challenge - click on the photo below to get there!

Inspired By... Cheesecake, Anyone?

Happy Thursday!
It's time for another Inspired By challenge! This week is a super sweet inspiration for  your creativity!

Doesn't our cue card make you drool? That cheesecake is mouth-watering and I took the cue from those sweet, sweet berries! Now granted, I had to go into my stash of crafty goodness to find something "berry" but my Papertrey Ink set called Green Thumb was perfect! I stamped the berries with some CTMH ink and popped the berries up, layering dies from Paper Smooches over some Project Life cards! I also used a "sweet" sentiment from a Stampin Up set called Tasty Trucks!
I hope this cue card inspires YOU to ink something up for  our challenge this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired By - Got Mail?

Happy Thursday, folks!
It is a wee bit warmer these last few days, which is a good thing - the air hurts your face when you have to go outside! Here's hoping we can get out for some fresh air this weekend!
We are playing with another fabulous Inspired By challenge today - and the cue card is adorable!

I dug into my PL card stash and combined it with some paper from Stampin Up and  Crate Paper for this mail-inspired card! Those fun little envelopes stuffed to the brim with  fun hearts were created with the Love Notes framelits from SU! as well!  This #snailmail needs to go out for delivery this week - I have  someone sweet to send it to!
Be sure to link to our challenge once you have designed something using our cue card  for inspiration - it can be ANY paper project - not just a card!
Thanks so much for stopping by - can't wait to see what you create!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge - Mardi Gras!

Happy Wednesday!
It's Paper Craft Crew challenge time again! This week - we are celebrating Mardi Gras up in here!
That's right! It's a Mardi Gras challenge!

This was a real challenge for me this week, I will admit. After all...  I AM a Canuck ;)   I  actually had to research a bit to get the whole story on what Mardi Gras is really about. Sounds wild!  So with limited knowledge, and sadly, no beads in hand... I had to come up with something inventive to go with our theme this week!
Details: Stamp: (Unity) Masquerade (SU) Labeller Alphabet Ink: Versamark, (SU) Gumball Green Paper: (SU) Basic Black, Gold Glitter, Perfect Plum, Whisper White Gold embossing powder Black embossing folder Tools: Cuttlebug embossing folder

I had to get creative with a sentiment.. as nothing I had seemed to fit.  The Labeller Alphabet is PERFECT for times like these. I definitely  enjoyed the 2-tone embossing on the mask - I was needing to add some SHINE! A few jazzy sequins and splashes of FSJ G…

February Viva la Verve Sketch!

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday!  Today I am sharing a sweet little card I designed for the Viva la Verve challenge! This sketch is SO versatile - I just know I am going to create another special
card with it! I just adore the "Love From Me" Digi set that Verve
has created - and it was perfect for this sketch!

I pulled out my FAVE Valentines paper from my stash - Stampin Up!'s  Wild About You DSP, and Crate Paper's Hello Love patterned paper pack  are a great combination.  I layered my Powder Pink cardstock on another layer of Kraft  before attaching it to my black cardstock base. The sketch measurements  were only a suggestion - as I had to play with sizes  a little to get everything just right. :)  I also used a wee scrap of Kraft and my Memory Box edge die  for a fun little strip layer. My heart punch went to work, and one of the larger  Kraft hearts was embossed with a woodgrain folder from Stampin Up!  Finally - a wee bit of fun polkadot sheer ribbon from my stash  w…

Stamp Ink Paper #136 - Cabin Feverrrrrrrrrrr!

Winter! It really sucks!!
Let me just start by saying that - and, for anyone who doesn't know this already... I live in Canada where we have (no exaggerating!) approximately 6 months of it.  Snow and cold can happen anytime from October to into April and it has even been  known to SNOW IN MAY! (ask me about my May long weekend camping  adventure wearing wool socks and throwing rocks out on to the ice that was still on the lake)
So - for me - the Stamp Ink Paper challenge this week  means I WANNA SEE SOMETHING GREEN!  I want grass.... and flowers... and... anything but white stuff and  minus 30 temps for weeks at a time! Some girls like a beach and a margerita - I prefer a cold beer and a boat on a lake with a fishing rod in my hand. I am counting the days!   Cabin Fever is a REAL.THING. when you live here. Why do you think I make cards?  It's either that or go shack-wacky from the cold!
Here's what I created to inspire you!

I used a lovely stamp from Unity called New Be…

This month we have some fantastic inky inspiration for you, using some our fave stamps from Unity!

Our theme this month is LOVE and we have some beauties for you! Here is what I came up with!

This set is amazing! I could've made countless more lovely cards for all of my favourite peeps - but I had to go make dinner! Ha!
I will be inking it up again soon, though!

You want it? Get it! HERE

Inspired By - Lovely Purse! :)

Hello and Happy Thursday!
This week is FULL of crafty fun - I am having so much fun sharing it all with you! Today I am designing for the Inspired By challenge - with Laurel Seabrook & Co. !  We have some gorgeous projects we are creating based on our cue card...  Here's my inspiration!

This card came together very quickly, as I grabbed some awesome Project Life cards and some retired Stampin Up paper scraps and got to work!
The part of the cue card that inspired me was the "shake it" cue ...  I made a  little shaker filled with glitter and sequins galore!  I also had some pretty pink ribbon-like hearts left in my stash from another project - it was PERFECT for this challenge :)
The fun little streamers are  created using a die from Reverse Confetti - I use it alot for any birthday/celebration card!
This CAS little shaker is on it's way to someone super sweet! I hope it brightens her day!

So, now it's your turn! Let's see what inspires you about the…
