Brighter Days!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!
I guess I spoke too soon the other day about having mild weather here - we have just dug out of a blizzard that saw 90 km/hr winds and now windchills of -30C. Haha - Mother Nature, you always keep us on our toes!
A snow day gave me time to create!

I decided to break out some awesome Stampin Up supplies since I haven't played with them for awhile! Here's the details: Tools: Rose Garden Thinlets, Stitched Circle dies Stamp: Beautiful You Ink: Elegant Eggplant  Paper: Vellum, Smoky Slate, Hello Honey, Whisper White Embellishments: Linen Thread, Droplets (Pretty Pink Posh)

I put two awesome challenges together to create this design!

Seize The Birthday/Atlantic Hearts Sketch

Clean and simple was my plan for this week!

I am using the sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

I am also playing along with Seize the Birthday this week!

The sketches over at Atlantic Hearts  centre around multiple layers, and I wanted to go for an "almost 1 layer" look! I dug out a Tim Holtz stencil and the NEW Distress Oxide inks in Worn Lipstick - I am going to have ALOT of fun with those now that I got my hands on some! My sentiment is from Verve's Beautiful Things collection and the pretty little flower is an old SU favorite called Flower Shop. I fussy-cut it after colouring with the oxides and blender pen, and added a bit of Zigs for highlights. I used a bit of fun washi tape for one of those "layers".  Easy-peasey!
I hope you like it!

CYCI #148

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Over here, March came in like a lamb.... and I am really hoping Mother Nature is kind to spring slowly shows up here (we have been known to have 2nd winter here on the Prairies)  While the weather makes up it's mind, it gives me plenty of time to play in my studio before gardening season starts!
This week, Can You Case It has another really great color challenge for you  to play along with! Check out my project!

I finally inked up a stamp set from Altenew called Bamboo Rose  and used my Tim Holtz distress inks and my Aqua Painter to watercolor a bit - I LOVE those flowers!  I embossed the card base with Stampin Up!'s Petal Burst embossing folder and added some droplets from Pretty Pink Posh to finish off this card! I think it should brighten someone's day!

If you would like to play along with us, be sure to check out our FB group here!
You have plenty of time to make pretty things and add them to our challenge!

Savvy 7 March Blog Hop-LUCKY!

Do you feel lucky? you? ;)
This month, the Savvy 7 Blog Hop is showcasing projects that centre around the theme "Luck"!  After all.... St Patrick's Day will be here soon and for many, we celebrate whether we have "the luck of the Irish" or not! You happened to hop over here from Wynne's blog - welcome!
Here's my crafty creation for you!

Now.... I have ALOT of stampin supplies. I mean - ALOT. But lo and behold would you believe I didn't have a single St Patrick'sDay-related stamp?!? How could this be??
So, I took to the internet and found this wonderful digi stamp and sentiment from Power Poppy! I had never heard of this company until my stamping EMERGENCY (haha) and they have beautiful clear polymer stamps as well! For this project I used the Digital set called Wish You Luck - it is PERFECT for a wedding around this time of year - don't you think?? Seriously - go check out their stuff and make pretty things!
Thanks for stopping…
