Freshly Made Sketches #366-Merry Little Christmas

Hello everyone! has been WAY. TOO. LONG.
Forgive me, but life has been a whirlwind of SO MANY amazing things. And hard things. And exciting things. And learning things. But here I am.
I have been needing so so badly to get inky - in the worst way. It is my *one thing* go-to for decompress. And life - well, sometimes it gets in the way, and I had to regroup and focus on a few things... but I always need to come back to my art. So here I am. Today was the day.  I was feeling so so sick today, and a little bit of colouring did the trick to make me feel a wee bit better! I had to go easy, and this simple card was the baby step I needed.  I created my design using a fun little sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. They are having a DT Call for their fabulous team, and I love playing along with them!

This card came together in the blink of an eye - and I love kraft cardstock - it is my favourite "rustic" look for Christmas cards! The corrugated  paper …

Inspired By - Summer On The Porch

Happy Thursday, crafty friends!
This week has been beautiful, weather-wise.... we had some rain last weekend, and my garden has some new growth poking through now that the sun has been shining! Summer... I LOVE YOU! ☀
This week's Inspired By challenge is PERFECT for this weather as well! We have a super-fun  cue to get your creative juices flowing - and this week, we have a FABULOUS sponsor and a  personal favourite of mine - Unity Stamp Company!

I love sitting on my front porch - its a little welcoming slice of shady heaven - so the card I designed was inspired by sitting and visiting with friends ... a perfect summer activity!

I dug in to my Unity stash from the past to create this design - using an image from the  March 2014 Kit of the Month and the sentiment is from a more recent Kit - going back to August 2016. If you haven't checked out Unity's monthly membership - you really should! They rock every month with 4 different choices ... delivered to your door! You a…

Stamp Ink Paper #153 - Tic Tac Toe

Hi crafty friends!! I hope you are having a great beginning to your week!
This week, the Stamp Ink Paper Design Team has a fun Tic Tac Toe challenge for you to get you inspired! I am excited to see what everyone creates using the different elements!
Here's my take:

This challenge had SO many options - but... in the end I decided to stay in the middle - horizontally!
I dug into my embossing folder stash and used a Taylored Expressions folder to create the fun cloud background and literally used scraps of Stampin Up's Daffodil Delight to make the sunbeams (simple, yet effective when paper choices are limited!) I kinda like how it turned out! :) I broke out my FAVE stamp set to date from SU! - Waterfront. The little scene was created using a medley of Pear Pizazz, Soft Sky and Soft Suede (stamped off to soften just a bit).
I literally cannot stop playing with this. OBSESSED. I have an upcoming class devoted completely to this stamp set. I can't wait to show you what I creat…

Here is my Unity inspiration for you!

I used a great Unity Itty Bitty - called Card Again, and masked a portion of the sentiment from First Love, First Hero. I thought this would be a perfect card for a Dad with a birthday that happens to fall on Father's Day this year!

Here is our list of Blog Hoppers this month!

Scrap n' Stamp Hop Into Spring Blog Hop

Happy Saturday !
We are finally back with another Blog Hop for the Scrap n' Stamp team! This month we had a fabulous die to play with from Dee's Distinctively dies! Here is my design!

This lovely lilac die was perfect for a wedding card - the upcoming day happens to be an outdoor wedding... and spring is a little late this year! Could it be possible the lilacs will JUST be waking up and blooming then? Here's hoping! I used Stampin Up's cardstock in Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry and cut 2 pieces at an angle to create that heart shape. They fit together perfectly! I popped up the lighter, smaller flowers with Stampin Dimensionals and added a few gems for some sparkle. That top layer was then adhered to the Basic Black cardstock base, and the interior of the card sports a layer of watercolor paper that was lightly painted using my Aqua Painter and the Rich Razzleberry ink. The sentiment I  used is from Stampin Up as well - the stamp set is called A Dozen Thoughts!…

Inspired By - Sweet Treats!

The weekend is soooooo close... I can taste it! 😎
This week, the Inspired By challenge has something SWEET to challenge you!
Our cue card will make you mouth water!

While I  adore cake and sweets just as much as the next person... the warmer weather we have finally had made me think of something refreshingly sweet - so it was a very simple watercolor watermelon to tempt your taste buds!

I love my Aqua Painter from Stampin' Up! I used Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush to create that "image" and set it with my heat tool.  My "seeds" were cut using one of the tiny dies from the Swirly Scribbles set from SU! It was easy to layer it over  Basic Black CS  and another layer of lighter Flirty Flamingo!

I had a perfect sentiment in mind for this card - I just had a sweet stamp set from Sugar Pea Design  happen to show up in the mail (hmmm... imagine that??) ;) It is called "SWEETEN". It sure sweetened up this design, don't  you think?!

I used my Bann…

Paper Craft Crew #291 - Sketch

Hi everyone!
Today I am over at the Paper Craft Crew - and we have an awesome sketch for you to play with!
Check out what I designed to inspire you to play along!

This paper packet from Stampin Up is going to blow you away! It is called "Share What You Love" - and it is PACKED with patterns that you will be choosing over and over for your projects!  This month you have an opportunity to order it before the NEW Annual Catalog launches June 1st! I layered it with our fabulous cardstock in Basic Black and Whisper White. Next, I cut a stitched square using our thinlits and stamped the lovely image from Love What You Do... the Crumb Cake  watercolor stamp was stamped off once so it was slightly muted. I like how it turned out! My sentiment is from another SU favourite called Happiest of Days. It was perfect for this card!
Check out how amazing all of the Design Team members projects are this week - we LOVE to inspire you! And play along! Link up to our challenge and share your c…
