Atlantic Hearts Challenge #178 - Another Post, Oh Deer!

Hi everyone! I am back again today with another sketch challenge from Atlantic Hearts! I just squeaked in to the challenge last week in the nick of time but this week I am cruising! I had another day off which gave me some MUCH welcomed time up in my studio and time to play with some awesome new crafty goodness from CTMH!

I LOVE non traditional colors for Christmas so this was right up my alley! Here's the details:
Stamp: (CTMH) Woodland Wishes Ink: Black Archival/Versamark Paper: (CTMH) Oh Deer!/ Uptown Fundamentals/Vellum/White Daisy/  Sea Glass CS/Gold Foil Misc: (SU) Gold star paper clip/Gold beads
I heat embossed some clear embossing powder over the black archival ink just to add a bit of shine - I tried almost every coordinating color for that sentiment but the black made it "pop"! the best - so that was what I chose!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to let me know you were here - leave a hello below!  Love, Peace and Ink :)  Amber xo

CYCI #138 - Shake It - Shaker Card Challenge AND Giveaway!

Happy Sunday all! The chill is in the air - we have days of +20 followed by days of +4 and nights dipping below the zero mark already! September is my most favourite month.... it signals a huge collective "sigh" in the earth as she waits to sleep. All the dramatic color inspires me!
This week over on the Can You Case It blog we have a shaker card challenge! Believe it or not, this girl had only attempted a shaker once before this! And I will not show you how THAT turned out! (note: I am *still* vacuuming up glitter out of the carpet in the studio!) So this WAS a definite challenge for me! Thank goodness for Eva and her awesome "how-to" video... life saver, girl! I spotted some inspiration on Pinterest for this card, and the fall colors had me hooked!
After the awesome hints from Eva on the easiest ways to make a shaker I went to work. And while a square is much easier (mental note for next time) I am ALWAYS up for a challenge! Here are the details:

Creative Corner Challenges - No Patterned Paper

TGIF! Its another fabulous weekend on the horizon - the weather is supposed to be FABULOUS for the upcoming few days - which is great because it has been a little frosty at night here already!  It is WAY too soon to think about the dreaded "W" word!
This week over at Creative Corner Challenges we have a great challenge for you - NO PATTERNED PAPER..... so... I made my own!
I dug into my Paper Smooches stamps to create the background for this card! I used the "Flap Happy" stamp set...stamping it using Tim Holtz distress inks in Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass, and Victorian Velvet.  I cut a rectangle in Whisper White CS using the MFT Wonky Rectangle die. And finally, the sentiment is from another Paper Smooches stamp set... called "Group Hugs".
Please play along with our challenge this week! And thank you for stopping by!  Amber xo

CYCI # 137 - Color Challenge!

Welcome! If you are anything like me, September seems to go by in a flash! Autumn is my ultimate FAVE season.... it signals a huge shift in the way the world moves... it slows down, and begins to go to sleep. At least here in our neck of the woods! Haha  This transition at times is a bit sad, but it also brings the excitement of looking forward to the holiday season! Too early? Well..... for a carmaker/artist and all around artsy-farsty junkie... this signals TRADE SHOWS! CRAFT RETREATS! and WORKSHOPS!  It may sound like insanity (it does to my hubby!) I begin focusing on the Christmas season in August... trade shows and Craft Fairs are beginning in full force by Sept/October. With that... Christmas cards are on my agenda....  while the beach babes are still catching the last rays of summer.  And this week at Can You Case It , we devoted our challenge to a color scheme that seemed perfect for a fun...non-traditional combo to use for a Christmas card!
I always get a bit bored with trad…

Fresh, Clean and Simple Christmas-FMS #253/SIP #64

Hi everyone! I have been pretty busy with a lot of projects and WORK (Boo! No fun at all!) but I was lucky enough to have THREE days off this week! My boss is THE BEST! So I decided to play with a couple challenges! Here is my card!

Here are the details on my card!
Ink: (SU!) Real Red Stamp: (SU!) Merriest Wishes Dies/Framelits: (SU!) Merry Tags Framelits/Pretty Pines Thinlets Paper: Kraft Cardstock/(SU!) Hello December 2016 Project Life card Supplies: Wink of Stella/(SU!) Gold Baker's twine
I am discovering how fast and easy it is to use those Project Life cards for some simple layers on cards! I will definitely be doing that for the busy Christmas season! Also, the little shimmer from Stella is SO cute! And SO hard to capture  in a photo! But it sure sparkles!

I played along with Freshly Made Sketches

I also joined the Stamp, Ink, Paper "Clean and Simple" challenge
Please leave some love so I know you stopped by, and thanks for checking out my crafty creation!

CYCI #136 - Sketch Challenge!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another AMAZING and creative challenge this week from over at Can You Case It! This week, we have a sketch challenge for you!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this sketch - because I am lovin' the layers!! I had so much fun with this one, and I hope you do too!
Here's the details!.... I pulled out my Ken Oliver Color Bursts and created a warm background on watercolour paper with a real "autumn" feel.... Some of the colours I used were Merlot, Tangerine and Orange and that wonderful Yellow Ochre! Next I stamped that beautiful tree image from Unity Stamps set Could I Be Any Cuter. I used black ink but then embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it some SHINE!  I used another Unity Stamp for the sentiment - this time it's from the Let Your Wishes Fly sentiment kit. I layered all of this over some Kraft and Delightful Dijon cardstock from SU! My base seemed a bit too "White" for all of this wonderful color, so I used a bit of Blac…

Creative Corner Challenges-Once Upon a Fairytale....

Hello everyone!  This week over at the Creative Corner Challenges, we have an awesome sponsor!  Thank you to A Day For Daisies for sponsoring the cool digi stamps for our Fairytale challenge!
That background was made with one digi stamp that I placed on watercolour paper and used my Ken Oliver ColorBursts in Lemon Yellow and some SU! ink in Costal Cabana with my Aqua Painter to add a splash of color! The sentiment is from Unity Stamps and I used the metallic Ken Oliver ColorBursts for a hint of lemony shimmer! I finished things off with a few sequins and some thin black satin ribbon!
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to join the challenge over at the Creative Corner!
