Atlantic Hearts #188

Welcome back! This week, I have another action-packed schedule - I am gearing up for one of the final craft shows of the season, and I also have a lot of Christmas shopping to get finished - shopping for my grandson is my favourite part!
I also have THREE challenges this week that I am going to be sharing with you - up first is my creation for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

This was such a fun sketch - I decided to create (surprise! ha) another Christmas card!
Here's the deets.....(all items are SU! unless specified)
Stamp:  Star of Light Ink: Dapper Denim, Soft Sky Paper: Gold foil, Vellum, Dapper Denim CS, Kraft CS, and Fancy Frost DSP (which is retiring, by the way!)
I added a snowflake brad, and  small swirl of delicate gold thread for embellishment and sent this card on it's way to one of my favourite people!  I hope they love it!
Thanks for stopping by-don't forget to let me know you dropped in by leaving a "hello" below!  Stay tuned this week for…

CYCI #141 - Sketch Challenge

Do you ever find that the SIMPLEST things can be the most challenging sometimes??? Well... for me (the "clean and simple Queen", as I claim) this challenge was absolutely  the hardest one I had to do in awhile!
But here it is!
I used SU! Cardstock for the base, and stamped the snowflake from the Tin of Tags stamp set in Real Red. I grabbed a piece of paper from the Echo Park "I Love Family" collection, which I got in the Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit,  and made some felted "ribbon" using some scraps of card stock in Real Red and Emerald Envy. And for that sentiment?? Well, I had a Project Life card that was still sitting on my desk from a previous craft session.... it just seemed to fit!  A couple little enamel dots and that was all this clean and simple card needed!
Be sure to join us - you now have 2 weeks to play along with Can You Case It!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #186

Welcome back everyone!  I am pretty sure I am not just the only one who has begun to look toward the holiday season and begin to prepare (you can only hide for so long, right?)
This week over at Atlantic Hearts, I used our sketch to create a Christmas card!

I had an AWESOME private party this weekend with a  fantastic group of 1st time stampers! Our Cards n'Cocktails was a blast - from the great food, awesome friendship and the comments like "I can't believe this was so much fun!" - I would call that a success! So, I still had some crafty goodness I had to put away from the party and I used some of those "scraps" to create this project!
Here's the details: (All items SU! unless specified) Paper: CS - Real  Red/Kraft DSP - Candy Cane Lane  Tools: Wonderful Wreath die/ Martha Stewart punch/ Softly Falling Embossing Folder Gold rope trim
Thanks for stopping by!

CYCI #140 - We're Back!!!

Isn't this exciting??? Welcome back!!!  Awhile back, we were saddened to learn our amazing challenge blog was going to disappear.... but fantastic news!!! We are back, everyone!! We will be trying out a new format and our challenges will be twice a month - PLENTY of time to join in and play along!!

I LOVE kraft - it is my ultimate fave - and this color combo shouts "Fall" - which made me happy as I am full steam ahead with Christmas cards. This was a wonderful break! My combination of colds is Recollections cardstock, and I cut the feathers with Stampin Up Feather dies. I inked up SU's Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in some Crumb Cake ink and stamped it off before using Celestial Copper Delicata Ink. I grabbed a sentiment from Paper Smooches "Uplifters" stamp set and then used a wee bit of washi, linen threads and some blingy copper sequins to finish everything off!

I really hope you are as excited about CYCI's return - and join us for  our challenges!!!

Creative Corner Challenge - Encouragement

Hi everyone! I am back  with my 2nd blog post this week - you are all going to be quite sick of me by Sunday!!!!
Today I have a Creative Corner Challenge for you - this week we are focusing on "Encouragement"!

I think everyone could use a little "hand UP" every now and then - and this card will be for someone who has been going through some tough times. She is BRAVE. And strong.
Here are the details for my design: Stamp: (Unity) June 2016 Kit of The Month  Ink: (SU)  Pool Party, Versamark Paper: Watercolor paper, Vellum, (SU) Cardstock, (We R Memory Keepers) Wild Spirit  Linen thread Tools: (MFT)  In&Out Diag. Stitched Rectangles
I used the "emboss resist" technique on my watercolour paper and the sentiment - choosing to emboss it in gold - the printed paper from We R Memory Keepers is one of my all-time faves! I really like how this turned out!
Let's all try to encourage one another - brighten someone's day and create a card form your heart…
