He Did It- CYCI #122 Challenge!

Well, my weekend is still kicking my butt.... it was a total whirlwind! My son (my BABY!) graduated!! AND we also celebrated my little grandson's 1st birthday! A weekend of milestones that we will remember forever!
Adorable boys, those two!

I came home from our celebrations and went straight to work.... I have an upcoming Ladies Night to prepare for and with graduation season in full swing, I am BUSY!

I jumped into the challenge again this week on the Can You Case It blog... and I also combined it with the always-fun Unity stamps challenge from their Facebook page! This week it was the "Itty-Bitty" challenge.... they have over 700 stamps to choose from!! I wish I had them all! But a girl has to dream.... So this is what I came up with:

This week's sketch is SO versatile!

Enabler list:
Stamp: Lil' Smartie Pants (Unity)
Paper: We R Memory Keepers, SU!
Tools: Lawn Fawn dies
Embellishment:(see that cute little bow-tie?! - CTMH)

I used my aqua painter to give that lit…

Something Old, Something NEW! CYCI#121

Good morning!!!
Summer will be in full swing here soon...literally! That golf resort will be keeping me hopping and a lot of my time will be out at the clubhouse keeping all of our guests happy.... I have to "make hay while the sun shines". (hay = money...haha)
I had half a day to be productive up in the craft studio - so I (finally!) cracked open my NEW pre-order from Stampin Up! The new catalog and products goes LIVE a week from today! Exciting stuff!

I also checked out the challenge at Can You Case It this week - it's a fantastic colour challenge!

Here's my card! Check it out!

I CAS'd a wonderful card I spotted on Pinterest using the NEW Swirly Scribbles die from SU! The watercoloring was super simple, just the aqua brush and a hint of Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and two of the new In Colors for 2016-Sweet Sugarplum and Emerald Envy. I used the retiring Stylish stripes embossing folder, and inked up A Dozen Thoughts stamp set with white craft ink for the …

CYCI Challenge #120 -All About Dad!

We just finished celebrating Mother's Day and now we will be moving on to graduations, weddings and Father's Day! I had to make a very quick Father's Day card today for someone who lives far away, and I decided to use the sketch from this week's Can You Case It challenge!

This card is total no frills,  and masculine cards are always tough. But this guy doesn't like a lot of fuss! So this was perfect for him!

Here are the products I used:

Cardstock: (SU!) Kraft, Early Espresso, Whisper White
DSP: (SU!)
Ink: (SU!) Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Stamps: (SU!) Guy Greetings
Tools: (SU!) stapler, embossing folder

That sketch was PERFECT for a quick and simple card! Thanks for stopping by!

CYCI #119/SIP #47 Combo Challenge!

Wednesday is finally here... it's all downhill until the weekend now... (well, that's what I tell myself!)
I decided to combine 2 of my favourite challenge blogs into one fun card this week!

Over at Can You Case It the design team has come up with a fantastic colour challenge!

And over at Stamp, Ink, Paper, this week they have a very cool "One Element Wonder" challenge going on!

Here is my card!
I embossed the Bloomin Hearts die cut with SU!'s gold embossing powder, as the gold foil paper just wasn't doing it for me...I used some pearls to accent those Navy blue flowers and kept it as simple as possible for my "one element". The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wings stamp set (SU!) and I used an MFT die for the banner.... I thought this card would be great for a wedding...birthday.... Graduation..... VERY versatile!
Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you like my card!!

Monday! Ugh!

Mothers Day is over, and honestly, its a lot of hype for just another day.
Do I sound bitter? Hmmm. Sorry.
It's not my intention at all. I have great mom and I have had wonderful role models in the mothering department. I am a mom, and a grandma (eek!) but I almost can't help but feel a bit meloncholy for the women out there who are alone or have a sense of dread about this day, year after year. I think it should be more about celebrating ALL PROTECTORS, NURTURERS, and people who make the world a little better, a little brighter. !!!

I made Mothers Day cards and now that its over I can share a few pics of some of those creations!

And I made a few cards for special order for someone with a killer sense of humour for all the women in her life...... One the outside it was sweet and innocent......   ....but then........

I was spoiled in my own special ways little things.... Darcy surprised me and took some old barn wood and created a table-top display and some boxes …
