Friends Of Unity Feb 2025 Blog Hop - Monochromatic

 Hi crafty friends!

It is already time for another Friends of Unity Blog Hop!

The month of January always seem to feel like it has about 73 days.... it is sooooooo long. But February flies by at the speed of light and it always brings a little longer days (yay!) and *usually* warmer temps... we shall see what this month brings - it could be a mixed bag ;)

This month my friends and I are inspiring you with Monochromatic cards using our Unity goodies, and while we have had some AMAZING new releases last month - I resisted temptation and decided to hit that stash again for some stamps that could use a little more love! I just have a couple quick things to share with you!

First up, a sympathy card, using classic black and greys.

Sympathy cards are a must-have sadly... it is never easy to make one and so I try to have a few on hand to bring comfort to someone when they are needed.  I have a few older Unity sets for comfort cards and I decided to ink up With Sympathy. Sadly, this set is retired but I use it regularly.
For this card, I simply inked the tree image on a piece of patterned paper and layered a piece of vellum that I tore on top. I stamped the small bird image and the sentiment  on this with Staz-On ink, as I find other inks smudge when stamping on vellum, unless you heat emboss.

Then I simply added thin white ribbon on th layered panels of Grey Granite and Very Vanilla cardstock on my black card base. I generally don't add embellishments to sympathy cards, but there are a few resin dots added to this card.

Next up... a "sweet" trio of monochromatic cards.

I adore the Sweet As Honey stamp set and I wanted minimal color so I inked it up on a few card panels. I know these quick cards will brighten someone's day. The sentiment was cut out with the Scallop and Stitched nesting dies on all 3 of these cards.

I simply colored all the images with white Prisma pencil crayon. I used Shaded Spruce ink on cardstock scraps that matched with a patterned paper also from SU.

The grey-toned card is Grey Granite ink, cardstock and patterned paper (all SU)

This beautiful blue-shade is a  combination of SU's Night of Navy patterned paper and Moonlight Mist cardstock. This color is so pretty. Creating these 3 cards was quick and easy and I love how just using different shades of color made the stamp shine!

We have a ton of inspiration this month for you and my friends have created some beautiful cards - be sure to check out each stop along the hop!
