CYCI # 137 - Color Challenge!

Welcome!
If you are anything like me, September seems to go by in a flash! Autumn is my ultimate FAVE season.... it signals a huge shift in the way the world moves... it slows down, and begins to go to sleep. At least here in our neck of the woods! Haha
This transition at times is a bit sad, but it also brings the excitement of looking forward to the holiday season!
Too early?
Well..... for a carmaker/artist and all around artsy-farsty junkie... this signals TRADE SHOWS! CRAFT RETREATS! and WORKSHOPS!
It may sound like insanity (it does to my hubby!) I begin focusing on the Christmas season in August... trade shows and Craft Fairs are beginning in full force by Sept/October. With that... Christmas cards are on my agenda....  while the beach babes are still catching the last rays of summer.
Can You Case ItAnd this week at Can You Case It , we devoted our challenge to a color scheme that seemed perfect for a fun...non-traditional combo to use for a Christmas card!

I always get a bit bored with traditional Red/Green design for Christmas and sometimes I like to step outside the box! That's what I did here!
Here's the details!

Stamp and Die set: (NEW!SU!) Star of Light - from the Holiday mini!
Paper: (Bazzill)-Bankroll (SU!)-Flirty Flamingo, Vellum
Ink: (SU!) Smoky Slate
Embossing powder: (SU!) Smoky slate/mixed with glitter
Brad: EK Success

Lesson learned on this card: I *probably* should have used a much darker ink for the sentiment, BUT... I wanted to purely stick to the challenge ... and I wish the picture would do it justice, but that "swirl" of stars has SO much glitter and shine with the embossing, it looks great on the subtle shimmer of the Bazzill cardstock!

Thanks for checking out my card this week, and be sure to stop at all the Design Team blogs to show some love! Let's see what you can do! Join our color challenge this week!
