Friends of Unity - Clean and Simple

Hi everyone - and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We said good bye to 2021 (and I don't know about you but I was more than happy to wave good-bye!)

We are a full week in to a new year, and the Friends of Unity are here to show you some fabulous, fun and fast clean and simple cards this month of our Blog Hop!

The theme of our hop this month is clean and simple.

Did you arrive here from Alaine's blog? If not, go back and check it out here  - her designs are always top-notch!

CAS (which means clean and simple) is my jam, and this month I was lucky enough to have a bit of time over Christmas to work ahead and create not just one, or two... but THREE cards for you. That's the lovlieness of clean and simple cards - you can create a great card to give someone and it doesn't take alot of time. My three designs took no time at all! Let's take a look!

I combined two great Unity stamps for this first card - the image from Friends I Can't Forget and I stamped an itty bitty called Woman Eat a Salad for the sentiment. I loved that splash of vino in my cup. You can thank my Ken Oliver colorbursts for that. On the watercolor paper it just looked like I spilled some merlot (wouldn't that be a tragedy?!)

Next up was this sweet card to send a friend for a bit of encouragement. The boots are from a Kit of the month called Beautiful Mindset (Feb 2021) and I watercolored them and simply punched out a cloud to show that pretty background paper. The sentiment is from Harmony Girl. I loved how this card turned out, even though it's not "really clean"  ;)

And finally, my third CAS card for our Blog Hop. This simple card uses another old favorite Kit of the Month called GROW into SPRING (Feb 2014) - this is a well loved favorite I will not part with - that bee and the sentiments in the kit that coordinate with it are used again and again in  my crafty space. I simply used a Tim Holtz stencil and Distress inks in Mustard Seed and Scattered Straw to create the background.

I can't wait to see what everyone has created this month and I hope you find some inspiration to create some clean and simple designs of your own!

Be sure to know you stopped by - leave a little hello below before you head off to our next Blog along the Hop - Joyce!

  1. I am in love with your bee card! It is so full of energy and the color contrast is amazing paired with the hint of the honeycomb stencil! The card with boots is too cute for words and I love the creative idea of the patterned paper peaking through the cloud. The first card is hilarious - the sentiment and the splash of wine is just the best!
