Friends of Unity Blog Hop - Winnie the Pooh!

Hi friends! The weekend has arrived - and not just any weekend, my favorite one of all - the Friends
of Unity Blog Hop is back!
February was a whirlwind, and it usually is, because it's a such a short month.
But it's special for a couple reasons - I have a birthday in Feb and while getting older doesn't thrill
me, I am so grateful for all the well wishes and greetings I get (and the CARDS!) They make this crafty girl's heart so happy!
Last month was also special because I was invited to be a Design Team member for Unity
and THAT seriously was a bucket list event. I can't begin to explain what an honor this is
so you will be seeing alot of inspo from me! EEEeeek!

This month for our Hop, we decided to showcase Unity's Winnie the Pooh stamps!
When these came out, alot of us stampers were over the moon. Pooh and his pals are SO fun to ink up and color, and Unity has a fun variety of images and sentiments to play with.

Crystal kicked things off over on her Blog - to go back and check out her inspiration, you can
go HERE.

Here is what I was busy playing with!

I just LOVE the sepia tones on a card, and this was inspired by a design by Julissa Sargo.
I just loved how she made an incredible card without fully coloring the image.
And this solid full size stamp called Making Memories With Pooh Bear is just perfect for a simple design like this!
I stamped the image with Versafine black Ink on ivory cardstock and used my blending
brushes to add a bit of depth around the outside edges with Tim Holtz
distress inks in Old Paper, Vintage Photo and Tea Dye and  little bit of water "flicking"
with an aqua pen. (*Note - this is NOT watercolor paper, it is just regular cardstock - so you have to use a light hand or the paper will be ruined).  I also added just a wee bit of white craft ink shadowing
around Pooh and Christopher Robin. Finally,  there's a bit of linen thread and
the cutest wooden button. Everything is popped up on a kraft cardstock base to finish this card off.

Next up is the SWEETEST combination of Pooh stamps - the image from Pooh Just Knew
is one of my favourites - I inked this up and colored it with Copics
and fussy cut it.  I wanted to create a sweet little scene so I embossed
the blue cardstock with a folder from Taylored Expressions.
I used a sponge to soften it up and add tiniest bit of white craft ink swiped across
those  raised clouds. Next I used a stitched cloud  die from Paper Rose and stamped the
sentiment from another Unity stamp set called An Ungloomy Day. I just love how this card turned out.

I hope you check out all of the stops along our Winnie the Pooh hop this month - my friends and I love playing with our Unity stamps to inspire you to create. I get so much inspiration from them and all of you when you share what you create! So please keep showing off those cards!

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to let me know you were here!

Next on the hop is my amazingly talented friend Bobbie Sue! Please do check out her blog HERE.

Peace, Love n Ink

  7. My goodness- both your cards are precious. I'm always looking for cards that might be simpler to make without a lot of coloring and your first cards might fit the bill. Your 2nd card though is beautiful. TFS
