Friends of Unity Blog Hop - Winter Wonderland
Hi everyone!
I can't believe it's already time for another Blog Hop with Friends of Unity - December is a pretty special month for us - It's our 7th Anniversary!
Crystal kicked things off this month (if you didn't start out at her Blog, you can head over there from HERE)
This is so wild, but our little hop celebrating our love of Unity began 7 years ago this month! I looked back at some of the cards I have created and wow I have come a long way - (some of my projects have been - Eeek!) But, I love my red rubber stamps, we have seen SO MANY AMAZING DESIGNS and in these 7 years I have met some fantastic friends along the road which is the BEST PART of sharing Unity!
Our theme this month is Winter Wonderland so I created a card to inspire you with a nod to the very 1st card I created for our Hop 7 years ago!
We have soooo many fun stamps that Unity has released over the years, and the great thing about hopping is always revisiting using a stamp from my stash! I ADORE new stuff (ha - who doesn't?!!) but all those years ago I designed this card using Cheerful Prancing. It feels oh-so-long ago - if you would like to visit that very 1st Blog Hop post, you can check it out HERE!
This sentiment kit was always a favorite - it's well-loved now and I was excited to see a digital cut file eventually added! I designed a fresh new card for you just for this Hop :)
I loved the addition of the shine of heat embossing - in my original card, I used gold, but this time I stamped the solid deer images directly on a piece of the pretty paper from the North Pole Collection paper pack. I used Scorched Timber distress ink and then sponged a bit of Versamark to capture some gorgeous copper embossing powder - it is so pretty!
I cut this out using the Make a Tag die set and gave it a bit of a vintage feel by distress ink blending the edges using Old Paper and Vintage Photo from Tim Holtz. I cut a second tag from kraft paper and distressed it as well.
The sentiment was inked with Stazon on vellum and heat embossed in clear powder. I wanted to layer it on my card and still have as much of that image shine through as possible. I popped them up on the kraft tag and used another piece of that wintery paper from the collection on my card base. Everything came together nicely and those little bells were a nice finale with a touch of red ribbon.
This month my friends have also created some beautiful cards to inspire you - why don't you check them out! The next stop along the Hop is over at Kari's Blog - you can check it out HERE.
